Paar Broer

Paar Broer? That is a question many people have the first time they hear the name of this band.  The name has a lot of meaning though to the members of this band as it is Dutch for “pair of brothers”! Yes, Paar Broer is indeed made up of two pairs of brothers – Harry & Jack on bass & drums with Andy & Matt on guitars and vocals.

The band came together not long ago but oddly enough have deeper roots. At Andy’s 10th birthday party, the four got together with some other kids and Andy’s guitar teacher Wayne Smith to learn how to play some good old rock and roll, garage band style.

Lo and behold, the four young musicians found themselves together again under the tutelage of Smith for their first go as a band at the Guitars Plus Rock School.  The group put together a quick list of songs and whittled it down to four to learn over the eight week class which leads up to the Rock School show.

The four finally had the chance to cut loose with their new repetoire of songs at the Oxford Club in Wexford, PA for the Rock School show on March 25th. The songs included classics from Deep Purple and The Who to new rockers from Franz Ferdinand and the White Stripes.
